Accelerate 8

The ON Accelerate 8 cohort began their program journey in November 2023 with Bootcamp.

Following a competitive selection process, the top 10 teams advanced to Immersion Week in February 2024. Over the next three months, participants engaged in intensive, facilitated learning sessions conducted both in-person and online.

The program concluded with Investor Demo Day and the ON Accelerate 8 Showcase in June 2024, during which teams presented their ventures to the Australian public.

ON Accelerate 8 Showcase Snapshot. Representation: 10 teams, 4 people average team size, 47 participants, 32 males (68%), 15 females (32%). Industries (teams are aligned with National Reconstruction Fund Priorities): 2 in agriculture, forest and fisheries, 1 in defence capability, 10 in enabling capabilities, 4 in medical science, 1 in renewables and low emission technologies, 1 in resources, 1 in transport. Affiliated organisations: 1 in CSIRO manufacturing, 8 from universities, including Australian Catholic University, Australian National University, Griffith University, James Cook University, University of Newcastle, University of Sydney, University of Western Australia, 1 from a publicly funded research agency, Westmead Institute for Medical Research

Our award winners for the night were Dr Grant Lynch (EMU Systems, USYD), for the 2024 Stanford Australia Foundation Award, and Dr Christine Carson (Cytophenix, UWA), for the Impactful Leadership Award.
