TRAPS is a platform that facilitates tracking of the pharmaceutical products throughout the supply chain.

It is based on a mechanism that utilizes hierarchical product coding in association with a distributed ledger.

The platform enables:

1. The hospitals and patients to validate the authenticity of the pharmaceutical products;
2. Pharmaceutical manufacturers to save their intellectual property, brand reputation and market share by preventing counterfeits from entering the supply chain and sales of their products on the black market; and
3. Regulatory authorities to prevent market manipulation through stockpiling, tax evasion through misreporting of sales and monitor the handling of controlled substances.
