Sustainable Brick

This study deals with a novel material design, based on this background, the research objective can be listed as follows:

 

1. Investigate changes in strength and durability for bricks containing different proportions of silica fume.
2. Investigate the changes in freeze/thaw resistance of brick containing different proportions of silica fume.
3. Find the optimum proportion of brick silica fume to improve strength and durability.
4. Develop a deterioration model for the brick with optimum silica fume composition and a maintenance plan using risk-cost optimization.
