Road Safety Group

Road deaths in Australia have been continuously increasing over the past three years, and current road safety technology cannot further reduce fatalities in road accidents. We address this by redesigning the safety roller barrier system using recycled tire rubber. Our research shows that using recycled tire rubber can reduce system costs by approximately 40% while maintaining the same safety performance as existing expensive systems. Through the ON Prime program, we learned to bridge the gap between research and commercialisation, becoming familiar with the commercialisation process and exploring more possibilities for applying our research.
