Reaching New Heights

For decades, an expensive heavy, bulky height board, prone to measurement error has been used to detect stunting in young children from low-resource environments.

We found an accurate, cheaper, lightweight, handheld digital height measurement device. We want to validate this device and make it more user-friendly for health care workers from low- and middle-income countries to screen for childhood stunting and undernutrition without having to lug heavy equipment around difficult terrain.
