NEMS Lab
Billions of disposable batteries are used every year to power small devices, creating high costs and environmental waste. In remote and industrial settings, such as mining sites, replacing and maintaining these batteries is even more challenging. We have developed a new clean energy device, the Moisture Electric Generator (MEG), which harvests natural moisture from the air to generate continuous electricity.
MEGs provide maintenance-free, sustainable power for low-energy applications like sensors, wearables, and smart textiles. For instance, in the mining industry, MEGs can run gas detectors and lighting 24/7, offering a reliable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional power sources.
