LCAP

By 2026, 90% of global organizations will face IT talent shortages, risking $5.5 trillion in losses. In Australia, 70% of IT roles are in shortage, with software programmers in high demand and a gender imbalance of 85% male.

To meet an 85,000-worker shortfall, low-code academic programs can equip students, especially those from non-technical backgrounds, with affordable, job-ready digital skills. This citizen developer approach fosters a more digitally capable workforce, drives innovation, and boosts productivity. It also enhances Australia’s economic resilience by accelerating market readiness, increasing competitiveness, and supporting startup retention within the innovation ecosystem.
