FluoProt

Our mission is to bring authentic science of global importance to the classroom. After having interviewed > 50 teachers/HoDs, we’ve gained insights into their pain points for meeting curriculum requirements. We’ve also gained insight into their difficulties retaining students in STEM after year 9. While our protein-DNA interaction kit for senior students meets our mission, it’s less relevant to the junior curriculum. We realized we had an ideal experiment that’s tunable to all year levels. This experience is as authentic as it gets while being fast, safe, easy to prepare, and engaging for students, teachers, parents, and the wider community.
