D-Ply
Most engineered wood products, such as plywood and particleboard, use toxic glues and virgin wood to manufacture furniture and buildings. These wood products emit poisonous gases that are linked to an elevated risk of lung cancer and significant global deforestation. These wood products are not biodegradable and are mostly burned at the end of their lifecycle, emitting more toxic gases. We have developed a new bio-engineered wood board for the first time, utilising biomass waste and fungi, which is stronger, fire-resistant, 100% glue-free, and bio-compostable, making it carbon-negative. This will benefit industries by reducing their waste and carbon footprint, and assist people, architects, and builders in designing, building, and living in sustainable and healthy homes and spaces.
