Since 2016, the Application Development team also known as CELLWorks, at WEHI – Australia’s oldest medical research organisation – has been developing an information system to manage animals and ethics in research environments.

Our system provides researchers and facilities with the ability to track, in real-time, data on animal colonies, manage genetic strains, organise work and tasks for research, breeding programs, husbandry and more, while meeting ethical, governance, and financial compliance.

The new venture will help to lower the cost, increase the efficiency, and improve the ethical treatment, of using animal models in research environments.
