Blitz-OM

Almost every child will have a middle ear infection by age 3 years. For 1 in 4 children infections become chronic and require surgery to insert grommets (tiny ear tubes). After surgery, parents must give antibiotic ear-drops twice daily for 5 days, which can be difficult and do not treat the underlying infection.

Up to 50% of children need repeat surgeries due to recurring infections. Our solution is a medicine given during surgery which clears the infection and prevents the need for repeat grommet surgery. We are now developing a single dose formulation to remove the need for daily ear drops.
