BELCH4

Livestock including cattle and sheep are critical to feeding global populations, but they are also renowned for their belches that contain greenhouse gases. The good news is that there are many clever ideas for solutions that reduce livestock’s emissions. The bad news is that the development and application of these solutions face a major bottleneck in livestock emissions measurement.

Current measurement technologies are slow, expensive and cumbersome. Our approach provides a rapid, affordable, hands-off method that uses features of the animal products, like milk or wool, to assess and reduce livestock emissions to lower the risk of climate change.
