Data access

Published datasets

We have published a number of datasets generated with WaveWatch III through CSIRO’s Data Access Portal.  These datasets contribute to a range of research and projects including the Australian Wave Energy Atlas (see Energy section), and COWCLIP.

Available datasets are:

• Wave hindcast
  • initial hindcast 1979-2010,
  • extension 2011-2013
  • extension 2013-2014.
• 21st Century wave  projections.

 

The data are served via THREDDS, and are accessible via OPeNDAP (remote access), HTTP download, WMS/WCS web services and the NetCDF Subset Service.

The total data collection is approximately 10GB in size, we recommend remote data access where possible. If using Python, Unidata’s Siphon package can be helpful (available via pip install).
