Project description
A consortium of companies comprising ITM Power, Transit Systems (part of the SeaLink Travel Group), Ballard Power Systems, BOC Limited, and Palisade Investment Partners, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to evaluate and demonstrate the use of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses for public transport in Australia.
In the first (concept development) phase of the project, the consortium was to investigate deployment of an initial 100 hydrogen fuel cell electric buses in cities across Australia. This early concept development phase would focus on infrastructure requirements and detailed plans for use of hydrogen fuel cell electric buses in up to 10 central hub locations.
More information on the H2OzBus project consortium can be found in the ITM Power media release announcing the project.
