Genomic resources

High-throughput screening of specimens will contribute to the exploration of the biodiscovery potential of little-known organisms. @Australian National Insect Collection CSIRO Canberra

We have three major areas of discovery underway, exploring and advancing our ability to maximise the use of environmental genomic resources.

These are:

  • mobilising biological collections
  • framework datasets
  • and biodiversity discovery.

Mobilising biological collections

Examples of research projects working with genomic data from natural collections:

High throughput collection genomics of highly variable DNA samples

Accelerating bio-discovery: a collection genomics pipeline for high-throughput target enrichment

Museum epigenomics

Exploring the Biodiscovery Potential of Natural History Collections

Framework datasets

Examples of our research working to build universal datasets.

Australian microbiome initiative

Biodiversity discovery

There is so much to learn about the hidden resources within our rich biodiversity, and we are working to uncover new resources.
