Australia/New Zealand eDNA best practice guidelines
eDNA methods show great promise for rapid, cost-effective species detection for applications from biosecurity detection to large scale environmental monitoring. We are committed to developing protocols and resources to realise the potential of eDNA.
Together with partners we have developed guidelines for research and monitoring applications using eDNA:
- Environmental DNA protocol development guide for biomonitoring
- Environmental DNA test validation guidelines
The guidelines are open access and can be shared freely on personal websites, Researchgate, etc.
They were developed as a collaborative project, funded by the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and led by Dr Alejandro Trujillo-Gonzalez of the Australian National eDNA Reference Centre at the University of Canberra and Dr Maarten De Brauwer of CSIRO.
