Geological & geotechnical modelling

Overview

The team has many years experience in development of algorithms and software for the generation, analysis and interpretation of geological modelling of rock masses for geo-engineering. This includes

  • acquisition of high resolution photogrammetric data for characterisation of surface geological and geotechnical features
  • digital methods for structural mapping of rock mass defects
  • analysis of structurally controlled failure modes
  • discrete fracture network analysis for 3-dimensional characterisation of defect connectivity
  • estimation of in-situ block size distribution
  • statistical methods to characterise uncertainty

Statistical analysis of bench crest damage with red zones indicating 50% of simulations have predicted damage
