Recently Justine attended the National Stormwater, Environment & Technology Conference in Brisbane to present her work.
The team participated to the SEA of Solutions conference that took place in Bangkok (18-20th September 2024) at the United Nations Conference Centre.
Early September team members traveled to Bangkok (Thailand) to deliver a workshop focusing on advanced data analysis for marine litter monitoring.
The Marine Debris team attended the Ending Plastic Waste Symposium 2024 (Melbourne, 6th & 7th August 2024).
On the 14th February 2024, all early- and mid-career researchers who work in the Ending Plastic Waste Mission came together for the first time at CSIRO’s Clayton facility.
The team has been busy with fieldwork during the first half of this year. This time, the team headed to Australia’s ‘Red Centre’, Alice Springs, situated in the Simpson Desert.
The project’s third and final plastic litter monitoring training and capacity building programme was held from the 19-29 February 2024 at Matabungkay Beach Hotel and Resort, Lian, Batangas.
Kathy visited the Western Philippines University main campus in Aborlan to give a seminar on ‘How data can help solve plastic pollution: Establishing a baseline of plastic litter in the Philippines’
The Project’s second plastic litter monitoring training and capacity building programme was held from the 6 – 16 November at Hue Hotels and Resorts, Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, is collaborating with Plastic Free Foundation on a project in the Philippines to develop and deliver an awareness raising campaign to reduce plastic pollution.
