Innovation centre for Vietnam’s entrepreneurs in the making

March 8th, 2022

Congratulations to teams from The University of Queensland and Vietnam’s Institute for Science, Technology and Innovation (VISTI) who recently signed a partnership to develop an Innovation Centre in Hanoi.

The Innovation Centre will raise the innovation capacity of Vietnam’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by providing information, networks, tech brokering, tech transfer support and more.

Based on best practice and policies from Australia, the innovation centre is expected to be a model for other provinces, universities and corporates in the process of building their own innovation centres, creating a haven for the creation, testing and sharing of new ideas.

Mr Tran Vu Tuan Phan, Acting Director of the Innovation and Technology Service Centre, VISTI (left) and Mr Rongyu Li, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement), The University of Queensland met to formalise their agreement to deliver an innovation centre to help Vietnam’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) tap into their innovation and entrepreneurial potential.
