The Lithium Battery Team at CSIRO Manufacturing is working on different aspects of lithium batteries including:

• Lithium Battery Electrodes: Preparing advanced cathode and anodes for different types of lithium (ion and metal) batteries using a range of active materials with various voltages and specific capacities
• Electrolytes formulation and optimisation: Preparing standard and modified electrolytes including organic, ionic liquid (IL) and solid electrolytes
• Ionic liquid synthesis and characterisation
• Development of advanced solid polymer electrolytes
• Lithium sulfur (Li-S) batteries: Study electrodes, separators and electrolytes, specifically understanding polysulfides redox process in various organic and ILs electrolytes
• Li-Air batteries, specifically advanced electrolytes
