Flow Chemistry in Spaaaaaaaace!
(with apologies to The Muppet Show)
Flow chemistry equipment specialists Zaiput Flow Technologies have just sent one of their in-line separators to the International Space Station on board the SpaceX Dragon capsule.
We use those same separators in our labs to separate organic and aqueous phases and eliminate the need to use separating funnels. From the benchtop 15 ml/min unit (aluminium), to the production 200 ml/min unit (Hastelloy), we can handle samples of a few grams to several kilograms in a production run.
Good to know that when the Aliens finally invade, they’ll be up to date with latest flow chemistry technology.
