Piloting RAPTA for design of sustainable development projects: Ethiopian case studies for food security
This report presents key findings from piloting the use of RAPTA (version 1) in supporting the design of two food security projects in Ethiopia in 2016. The Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) Guidance for Resilience in the Anthropocene: Investments for Development (GRAID) program and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) provided the opportunity to pilot and evaluate the RAPTA approach in the following two case studies:
- input into the development of a detailed project proposal about food security in Ethiopia. The project was being developed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ethiopian government, for submission to the Global Environment Facility (GEF) for funding.
- working at local village level with the Telecho community in the Welmera district, Oromia region, Ethiopia, to design project to submit for funding (funding partners not yet identified).
