Science Wednesday: monitoring evapotranspiration from fields to regions
In today’s 9-minute video, Dave Deery from the Digiscape WaterWise project team talks us through an R&D opportunity: blending proximal and satellite sensors to monitor crop evapotranspiration consistently across spatial scales.
Blending different sensor data is a science direction that was also taken in the Great Barrier Reef and Graincast projects, but there’s plenty more to be done to standardize techniques and to extract useful landscape information.
Note also Dave’s passing mention of an impact-planning workshop: these workshops are a time-efficient way to check that there is a plausible end-use before going into technical mode.
