Russell Fiedler COSIMA Award

DCFP’s Software Engineer Russell Fiedler has just been given the ‘Most Selfless Contributor’ award by his colleagues at the Consortium for Ocean-Sea Ice Modelling in Australia (COSIMA).

COSIMA is a collaboration between university-based researchers and research agencies including CSIRO. COSIMA’s goal is to jointly develop ocean and sea ice model configurations and build a community of researchers to advance ocean and sea ice modelling.

Russ is a founding member of COSIMA and his award is a testament to his ongoing willingness to provide advice and assist his colleagues to resolve technical challenges. Russ’ work involves creating topography for the new 0.1 degree model, which has involved an incredible 22,000 hand-edits.
