Zeiss Stereo Lumar V12
Room B:04 Fluorescence microscopy, South wall, BMIC, Synergy LG.
The Zeiss Stereo Lumar V12 is a fully motorised fluorescence stereo microscope designed to image unmounted samples, small or large (e.g. seedlings on agar plates, seeds, roots).
The microscope is equipped with a camera (Zeiss Axiocam) along with motorised stage, filter head and objective column. ZEN software control allow multi-dimensional data acquisition, such as multiple fluorescence channels, tiled images, Z-stacks and extended depth of focus imaging.
By default the microscope is equipped with a neolumar 0.8x objective lens, providing 6-80x magnification. The neolumar 1.5x objective is also available, providing 12-150x magnification. Please contact BMIC staff before your imaging session if you require the 1.5x objective.
The 4x position filter wheel allows for 3x fluorescence plus 1x bright field filter sets to be installed at one time. Filters currently available in BMIC are listed below. Please contact staff prior to your imaging session for installation of required filters.
Training: use of this microscope requires at least one training session with Viv or Phil. Please contact us at least 2 weeks in advance to organise training. Registration to book the equipment will not be available until training is complete.
