Team Profiles & Projects
Agricultural & Digital Innovation
The Agricultural & Digital Innovation (ADI) team integrates social dimensions of technology development and responsible innovation principles into projects as they are in progress.
Resources & Communities
The team furthers regional resilience and prosperity by providing robust scientific evidence on the social and economic effects of industry changes and transitions in regional Australia. Our research focuses on managing transitions in place-based contested spaces as a consequence of industry and policy changes or new and emerging technologies in the energy, mining, waste, and emerging resources sectors.
Biosecurity & Biotechnology
Boosting integrative decision-making and productivity capacity of Australian plant and animal industries through social, economic and institutional innovations, with a focus on biosecurity prevention, resilience, response/adaptation behaviours and development of innovative (bio)technologies.
Regional Communities & Catchments
The team’s science focuses on the drivers of sustainable development for regional and remote communities and catchments, particularly in Australia’s north. Team strategy links complementary domains (Northern Development, Great Barrier Reef, and Indigenous Science Futures) into a coherent portfolio to balance key science linkages, client diversification, and impact positioning.
Research Group Leader
Cathy leads and supports several initiatives that provide practical examples of how to accelerate innovation with ideas that value and enable diversity. This includes research with Indigenous and remote rural communities and scientists to accelerate collaboration and innovation to achieve to enable a total system health approach for Northern Australian regions.
