Workspace 32-bit going into retirement

December 23rd, 2016

Here at Workspace HQ, we’re constantly working on improving Workspace and expanding our library of third party plugins for all of our lovely users out there. As our library of third party plugins continues to increase, our team of developers are naturally finding that more and more of their time is spent on maintaining all the great plugins for deployment for each subsequent version of Workspace. Doing all the software engineering work so you don’t have to is one of the key features of Workspace. However, like many other software teams, we are always striving to strike the right balance between developing new features and supporting our current array of functionality and platforms.

So what are we doing about it? Well for starters, we’re in the process of expanding our team to get more hands on deck. We are considering officially dropping support for Windows 32-bit to cut down on the number of target platforms. This is in line with other teams/platforms around the world who are also reducing support for 32-bit OS’es.  Of course we do not want to leave anyone orphaned, so if this is deal-breaker for you or your team then please contact us and let us know.

We have had a great run with Windows 32-bit but it’s possibly time to part ways. Please get in touch with us to share your thoughts.
