QMEA Student Ambassador and Teachers Visit – STEM Education with Researchers and Engineers from the Robotics and DSS Groups
On Wednesday 1 December and Thursday 2 December, our researchers and engineers presented and demonstrated our science and technology, including our DARPA Robots, to an enthusiastic group of QMEA student ambassador and teachers from 20 Queensland schools.
Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) is a highly successful program placing students onto pathways into the resources sector and other science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) industries, with a strong focus on female and indigenous students.
Each year the QMEA student ambassador and teachers take part in an Industry & Innovation tour of Brisbane which includes a tour of the CSIRO site at Pullenvale. All of the students and teachers were extremely enthusiastic and ask lots of questions of our science, technology and engineering.
The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group is proud to have been part of this experence for over 7 years.
