Making farm assets smarter
Last week, Dr Peyman Moghadam, our AgTech Cluster Leader, who leads the transition of innovative technologies into farms, took part in the ‘The Future is Robotic’ panel at the Precision Agriculture – Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA).
In a review of the event, Farm Online highlighted the differential solutions presented by Dr Moghadam.
Instead of reinventing the wheel, at the CSIRO “we took a different view of the whole technology: Could we come up with a way to take existing equipment, existing assets, that had already been on the farm for many years, and make them smarter?,” he said.
While numerous technology start-ups spoke of concepts, accelerators and prototypes at the event, the CSIRO and University of Sydney researchers indicated that they are also focused on leveraging existing technologies.
The full story describes the panel discussion, as well as a mention our Autonomous Ground Vehicle Gator, which is already being considered for agricultural applications.
Our Group partners with small and large companies, rural research and development corporations, government and industry in Australia and around the world to develop and mature robotic technologies from concept to commercialisation.
