Second RACS paper published

December 15th, 2021

The second RACS paper, presenting the first Stokes I catalogue derived from the RACS survey, has now been published. The catalogue was assembled from the 799 RACS-low tiles that could be convolved to a common resolution of 25 arc-seconds. The catalogue covers a large contiguous region in the declination ranging from -80 deg to +30 deg and consists of 2.1 million sources (excluding the region around the Galactic plane). It is the first extragalactic catalogue resulting from ASKAP observations covering the majority of the sky. The catalogue will be an important tool for both the preparation of future ASKAP surveys and for scientific research. The paper has been published in the journal Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia: https://www.doi.org/10.1017/pasa.2021.47
