NBIC Council
The role of the National Bushfire Intelligence Capability (NBIC) Council is to create and sustain a whole of government authorising environment for the release and use of national products and for NBIC to achieve its intended national outcomes.
The NBIC Council also sets the direction of NBIC through co-development and endorsement of future project stages.
The NBIC Council is designed as a delegate model where each Council member represent interests of a declared set of constituents*. The home agency for each state and territory member is noted in the table.
NBIC Council members from each state and territory across Australia have been provided with the authority and legitimacy to represent these constituents.
*Each state or territory government’s Council member will be asked to define and use best efforts to reconcile, and represent the needs and perspectives of all relevant stakeholders in their jurisdiction.
