The Bushfire Surveyor System (BSS) team recently undertook User Acceptance Testing, generating user feedback for Version 1.0 of the field mobile app. This provided the development team with insights on feature requests, refinements and bugs that need addressing.
During the month of February, the BSS team are undertaking field testing for the app with South Australian Government staff. This audit will allow the team to test and improve the app in the field. If you are interested to engage in user testing of the app, please email the BSS team.
The BSS team are refining the app and implementing new features as part of 2 releases in the coming months.
- A minor release of the BSS platform (version 1.1) is planned for the end of February 2025, which focuses on priority bug fixes and feature requests identified from version 1.0 user testing. These features include: improved BSS mobile app user experience, improved CSIRO rapid impact assessment survey, survey templating capabilities, and a new web-based survey management interface (called Conductor).
- Version 2.0 release planned for the end of April 2025 which will include enhanced platform stability, an improved user experience in the BSS app, a deployed iOS app, and various additional features including enhanced offline surveying capabilities, and a detailed CSIRO survey ready for use.
This release will enable users across government agencies and relevant organisations to conduct rapid assessments and detailed surveys on bushfire affected areas in the field as well as customise existing surveys to suit their organisational needs. Data collected via the BSS platform will be able to be exported to be used for reporting, analytics and dashboards.
