Sumitomo Green Hydrogen Production Plant

In early 2021, Sumitomo Corporation executed a contract for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) studies to be undertaken for a solar-powered hydrogen production plant located at Gladstone, Queensland.

The project proponent has entered into a contract with JGC Holdings Corporation (part of the JGC Group) for the latter to undertake FEED studies for a hydrogen-related project planned for Gladstone, Queensland.

Initial hydrogen production is planned at 250-300 tonnes per annum, with the opportunity to scale-up production. Hydrogen production will be via electrolysis, using green electricity.
