Edible insects

Decisions and Strategic Planning Group researcher Rocio Ponce-Reyes has led the development of Edible insects: A roadmap for the strategic growth of an emerging Australian industry. Arising from a CSIRO cutting-edge symposium, the roadmap summarises the opportunities and future actions needed to grow the Australian edible insect industry in four areas: cultural, environmental, health and diet and commercialisation. The roadmap had strong industry involvement and outlines the case for an Australian edible insect industry and the actions needed to grow the budding industry into an inclusive and sustainable market.

The report received wide media coverage and interest, including radio, TV and social and print media.
