LOOC-C is an app developed by CSIRO which helps farmers understand if they are eligible to receive funding from the Government’s Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) The app allows farmers to input their farm details and provides them with potential options for involvement with the ERF, and information about who they can contact to find out more.

Speakers at the event included Shayleen Thompson, Executive General Manager of Scheme Operations of the CER. Shayleen mentioned the CER are interested in digital tools like LOOC-C to help reduce barriers for participation in carbon farming activities. Kate Andrews, CEO of NRM Regions Australia, also spoke to attendees and praised LOOC-C as a tool that has been developed in conjunction with the farming community.

Moving forward, LOOC-C will continue to be developed, with the app to become more comprehensive and provide users with more incentive to take action. It is hoped in doing this that LOOC-C can increase participation in carbon farming nationally.
