Technology Showcase at Parliament House for Minerals Week

February 15th, 2019

Deep Earth Imaging Future Science Platform was invited by the Minerals Council of Australia, organisers of Minerals Week, to showcase technology being developed within the Deep Earth Imaging Future Science Platform recently at the Technology Showcase that was held in the Grand ballroom at Parliament House on 14th February 2019.   The event attracted approximately 350 people from government, industry and academia.

To platform our developments in the FSP we created a new virtual reality experience internally with the help of the RMC facility at QCAT that showed our work being done on Moho, Cover Thickness and Groundwater.

This was a valuable opportunity and resulted in a number of politicians and stakeholders learning more about the unique work the FSP is creating.

The photo attached shows Ms Madeleine King, Member for Brand and Shadow Minister Assisting for Resources experiencing the VR for the first time being led through by Bianca Moiler and Juerg Hauser, both from the DEI FSP.
