The Deep Earth Imaging Future Science Platform (DEIFSP) sponsored the 2nd Biennial Meeting of the Australian Chapter of Interpore, which was held at The University of Melbourne from 31 October to 2 November. Approximately 40 delegates to the conference included Mike McWilliams, Ben Clennell, Jonathan Ennis-King, James Gunning, Tobias Mueller and Seyed Mostafa Jarari Raad.

Interpore is an independent scientific organization with the primary objective of promoting and distributing knowledge for the understanding and modelling of natural and industrial porous media systems between industry and academia. Interpore tries to provide an atmosphere and environment in which these researchers can exchange their ideas and technical needs.

The conference was a discussion-intensive meeting that brought together international and Australian specialists from academia and industry with diverse interests in porous medium research. Scientists attending the conference commended the organisers on its focus for abundant time for questions and discussion following each presentation.
