The Lab

“Exploring innovative ICT in a real-world clinical setting.”

Data61’s ehealth living laboratory ‘The Lab’ is a partnership between Data61 and the University of Canberra to explore innovative ICT in a real-world clinical setting. Designed with user-driven innovation at its heart, it is a placed within a tertiary GP clinic called the ‘Health hub’ where general practice is combined with allied health and diagnostic services including fixed and mobile student led allied health clinics and teaching spaces. The Lab involves all stakeholders throughout the innovation process – from vendors, to university staff and students, clinicians and patients; with the aims of improving health-care delivery. The current focus of The Lab is exploring the use of iPad technology by patients to manage chronic disease, and the design and installation of appropriate ICT technology throughout the Health Hub.
