Leica MZ FLIII
Room B:04 Fluorescence microscopy, North wall, BMIC, Synergy LG.
The Leica MZ FLIII is a simple fluorescence stereo microscope for screening unmounted samples (e.g. whole leaves, roots, seeds or plates).
The unit is equipped with a ZEN software-controlled camera (Zeiss Axiocam) for imaging, a variable transmitted light base and swan neck reflected light source. The microscope has a 1.0x objective and provides 8-100x magnification capacity. The LED based fluorescent light source provides rapid, safe illumination without the need for extended operation and cool down times.
The 4x position filter wheel allows for 3x fluorescence and 1x bright field filter sets to be installed at one time. Filters available in BMIC are listed below. Please contact staff prior to your imaging session for installation of required filters.
Training: use of this microscope requires one training session with Viv or Phil. Please contact us at least 2 weeks in advance to organise training. Registration to book the equipment will not be available until training is complete.
