Skin Detective is an AI-powered mobile app capable of automatically analysing skin conditions and skin diseases and connecting the user with a dermatologist for remote diagnosis. The core AI system of Skin Detective is developed based on the results of clinical research by the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, International University, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and doctors from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Using Skin Detective is really easy. Users just need to take some selfies with their phone camera and AI will analyse the images to generate results. Users can then connect and chat with a dermatologist of their choice on the app for specific skin care and treatment advices.

With the current situation of air and water pollution in Vietnam, skin problems will only become more common. Meanwhile, Vietnam is facing a shortage of physicians with only 11 physicians for every 10,000 population. Apps like Skin Detective and application of AI in telehealth in general can help address this issue.
