Residents
Residents were defined as “people who live within the Reef catchment (east of Great Dividing Range, from Bundaberg to Cape York).”
Coastal residents were surveyed using face-to-face methods across each of the main population centres along the Great Barrier Reef (Cairns, Mission Beach, Ingham, Townsville, Airlie Beach, Mackay, Gladstone, Yeppoon and Bundaberg).
A total of 1,933 surveys were completed by residents in 2017 and 3,181 in 2013.
