Tell us a little about your research?
There is a growing interest in utilising genomic data for medical tests and research analysis. Therefore, privacy concerns in exchanging this type of information are also increasing. My research focuses on ensuring that sharing, managing, and analysing the data does not reveal the identity of the individuals who contributed their genomic samples to third-party storage. By utilising cryptographic solutions, I am introducing new methods to ease genomic data analysis while considering data owners’ privacy and maintaining their consent.
What are your highlights?
I am proud to be part of the Distributed Systems Security research group. I find the work here significantly motivational as it attempts to address not only the research gaps in this field, but also the real-world industries’ concerns.
What are your top 3 research expertise?
1. Cybersecurity
2. Cryptography
3. Genomic Privacy
What is the highlight of your experience working with CSIRO's Data61?
As one of the most renowned institutes in Australia, CSIRO Data61 has provided me with useful and educative interactions with other researchers.
What are your plans after completing your PhD?
I plan to continue my research work in the field of security and privacy. I am highly interested in digital health and genomic privacy. Hence, I would extend my research in these areas.
