Welcoming Dr. Yayong Li: Our new Postdoc Research Fellow

August 22nd, 2022

Yayong Li is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Embodied AI research cluster at the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Group at CSIRO Data61. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2022. Prior to that, he received his Master degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2018. His main research interests are Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and Data Mining, with the focus on developing novel machine learning methods to deal with the label sparse and noisy problems on graphs. His particular research topics include Active Learning, Label Noise, and Pseudo Labelling on graphs.

CSIRO has the worldwide academic reputation and gathers talented scientists from all over the world. I am honoured to have this opportunity to work in Data61 and join the Embodied AI Cluster. I am also excited to have the chances to collaborate with all the leading researchers in this multidisciplinary research group, and apply my knowledge in GNNs to deal with the challenges in Robotics as well as Agriculture. Joining this team would definitely be a great journey.” Dr. Yayong says.

We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Yayong with his expertise in Graph Representation Learning to our Embodied AI Cluster. Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are dominating the field of deep learning for structured datasets. There is a great potential for developing novel graph representation learning methods for physical systems (unstructured data formats) like Embodied Agents“. Dr. Peyman Moghadam, Embodied AI Cluster leader says.

Welcome to the #TeamCSIRO.
