Robotics Showcase Day 24
CSIRO is organising the ‘Robotics Showcase Day’ event to be held at CSIRO’s Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies (QCAT) in Pullenvale on the 23rd of May 2024.
This event intends to bring together three categories of crucial stakeholders of the Australian robotics ecosystem: Australian robotics SMEs, Australian robotics research labs and potential investors/buyers of these technologies from industry and government. This initial event will focus on the Australian mining and defence industry sectors and their adjacent industry sectors, disaster response and space. Future events will focus on other key Australian industry sectors.
Objectives
Our primary aim is to showcase the cutting-edge capabilities of small and medium-sized robotics companies in Australia that develop and integrate systems alongside Australian robotics research labs that develop technology targeting industry applications. We intend to emphasise the multi-use potential of key robotics technologies in industry sectors such as mining, disaster response, defence and space. To achieve this, we will extend invitations to various Australian robotics companies and research labs to present live demonstrations of their robots and systems at CSIRO’s QCAT site. We will also invite corresponding industry and government leaders to attend and view the presented technologies. Through this event, we intend to contribute towards uplifting and building stronger ties across the Australian robotics ecosystem. This is seen as a crucial step towards growing and consolidating Australia’s sovereign capability in robotics.
Event Organization
This event serves as a networking opportunity to foster the growth of the Australian robotics ecosystem. Specific timeslots will be allocated for live demonstrations, covering capabilities such as Uncrewed Ground Vehicles (UGVs), Uncrewed Underwater Vehicles (UUVs), Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), as well as Sensing, Mapping, and Localization Systems.
CSIRO is closely working with the Robotics Australia Group (RAG) and the Australian Robotics and Automation Association (ARAA) to make this event a success.
