CSIRO to RAMP-up research with A*Star

By September 20th, 2019

This week the RAMP Centre welcomed a visit from our friends at the Accelerated Materials Development for Manufacturing (AMDM) team at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), one of several institutes at Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star).

Dr. Yim Lee Fun and Dr. Jatin Kumar spent two days learning about our high-throughput experimentation facility, and seeing some of CSIRO’s other world-class capability at our Clayton research campus.  The team from AMDM shared their expertise in data management and machine learning for materials development, and we made plans for a joint research project that leverages our combined expertise.

Dr. Kumar gave a talk titled Accelerating Materials Development to an audience of CSIRO and Monash University scientists.

The combined team plans to hold a research workshop in the near future, and hopes to undertake a bilateral researcher exchange, with scientists from both institutes spending an extended period of time in the other’s labs. Watch this space for further information on this exciting new partnership.
