Planes, Trains, and Combinatorial Science

By October 9th, 2018

In early October, Dr. Shaun Howard from the RAMP Centre attended the Combi2018 meeting in Yokohama, Japan. The biannual meeting is a chance for international research teams to discuss their progress and set new goals for combinatorial materials discovery. As forecasted at the 2014-2016 meetings, the main thrust of 2018 was the application of machine learning (M.L.) to the advancement of materials science.

Shaun presented a review of recent efforts at the CSIRO, both within the RAMP centre and other projects from CSIRO Manufacturing. We look forward to following up on discussions from the meeting, and forging new collaborations (as well as rekindling older ones) in the next two years.
