The QUOCKA sample will be described, listed and visualised here. The sample has been developed on the basis of polarized sources detected in ASKAP images during the Early Science period, as we prepare to undertake the POSSUM Survey.
We have developed the QUOCKA sample using ASKAP Early Science data that has been polarization calibrated. Using total intensity and linear polarization images, we detected reliably polarized radio galaxies within each of the available ASKAP fields. The QUOCKA sample is drawn from those radio galaxies that display sufficiently high fractional polarization that they are not dominated by instrumental effects, and with a polarized intensity high enough that snapshot ATCA observations are sufficient to characterise their properties.
Stay tuned – in future this page will provide the QUOCKA source list.
