2017 QCAT 25th Anniversary

QCAT was officially opened on the 5th February 1993 however the site was operational in September 1992. The purpose of this event is to celebrate 25 years of operation at the QCAT site.

Location: QCAT Lecture Theatre & QCAT Canteen

Background & Objectives

The 25 Year Anniversary day will have a number of key objectives including:

  • Celebrating the history of the Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies with staff, tenants and invited guests
  • Creating impact through opportunities for increased engagement with industry, government and senior CSIRO representatives
  • Presenting the future vision of QCAT including the research directions of CSIRO Business Units at QCAT
  • Demonstrating QCAT’s world leading Technology and Research in the Site Tours
  • Creating exposure from the media attending the event at QCAT (including the TV media)
  • Exposure from a Queensland Government Representative (TBA) and unveiling a plaque for the 25th Anniversary of QCAT

Timing

10.00am                Lecture Theatre (1 hour)

  • Key note speeches
  • 3 minute video collage of the history of the QCAT site
  • Panel/Ted Talk style presentation by the four Business Units

11.00am                Premier of Queensland (or delegate) unveils the plaque for the 25th Anniversary of QCAT with media

QCAT Site Tour (1 hour)

  • Invited guests (approx. 50) join 2 to 3 tour groups
  • Groups tour the four CSIRO Business Units Research and Technology on site

12.00pm               Canteen

  • Lunch for invited guests, tenants and CSIRO staff
