Selotia Tausi is a Principal Extension and Information Officer with the Agriculture Department, Government of Tuvalu and is based in Vaiaku, Funafuti, Tuvalu.

Selotia was responsible for leading the tasks in Tuvalu for the Soil management in Pacific Islands project. She coordinated the field activities together with team member Matio, in Funafala, Tuvalu and collected the soil from different islets in Funafuti, Tuvalu to send to Australia for analyses. Selotia’s contribution to the project was essential to better understand the soil health and nutrients present in Tuvalu soil. This research can enhance knowledge about how best to improve the soil nutrients to increase crop productivity, leading to greater food production that can increase food security in Tuvalu.
