Ellis Vaega is a Research Scientist with the Agriculture Research Division in the Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa and is based in Nafanua, Apia Samoa. Ellis works with his colleagues Seuseu Joseph Tauati, Olo Aleni Uelese, Ulugia Angelika Tugaga, and Sharydia Alatise Tusa in the soil health team.

Ellis, together with Aleni, undertook much of the heavy work associated with the field trials in Samoa for the Soil Management in Pacific Islands project. Ellis managed the tools and measuring apparatus for the field data collection. He also contributed to the taro block maintenance, harvesting and sampling of plant material and soil, and took data measurements. Ellis also helped with the packing and labelling of field samples for analysis.
